It is defined as a condition in which there is an accessory bone formation of the foot. It develops in front of the ankle and inside the foot. It is present around 3 percent of the population and is mainly asymptomatic. It can become symptomatic in the later stages.

It includes the heel spurs, plantar fasciitis and bunions.

What is the treatment of Accessory Navicular bone ?

During its asymptomatic period no treatment is required but when it becomes symptomatic there is a need for surgery.
